All the games were played at Palasport Taliercio, in Mestre. Being there is always exciting, but that time was different: we were playing to be the champions!<br \/>\nOur team, IIS Bruno-Franchetti, IIS Tommaseo- Benedetti was beaten 56-54 in the first semi-final, while 8 Marzo outdid Istituto Cornaro 66-51.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4407\" src=\"https:\/\/old.istitutobrunofranchetti.edu.it\/giornalino\/wp-content\/Tabellone.png\" alt=\"Tabellone\" width=\"600\" height=\"241\" \/>We won our semi-final with a buzzer-beater shot at the last second, so everybody ran to the midfield to celebrate the win with the whole team.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4417\" src=\"https:\/\/old.istitutobrunofranchetti.edu.it\/giornalino\/wp-content\/49.png\" alt=\"Celebrate the win\" width=\"566\" height=\"423\" \/><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_4414\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4414\" style=\"width: 566px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-4414 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/old.istitutobrunofranchetti.edu.it\/giornalino\/wp-content\/Team.png\" alt=\"Team\" width=\"566\" height=\"434\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-4414\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Lorenzo Zorzi, Alvise Ortolan, Daniele Ciaramella, Michele Antelli, Tobia De Eccher, Riccardo Pastrello, Davide Lazzarin, Leonardo Carrer, Elia Grassetto, Francesco Sanguinetti, Gianluca Bandiziol, Alvise Perini, Luca Dinelli, Silvia Maronato, Matteo Moro, Giacomo Gori.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>And then, there was the Final.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All the players were very nervous because we were rapresenting all our school-mates but we weren\u2019t alone: lots of our friends came from school to support us clapping their hands and singing stadium chants from the beginning to the end of the two matches. Seeing so many people on our side was amazing!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">At the beginning of the match we played better than the 8 Marzo students, in fact after two quarters we were winning 27-16. Maybe we became confident about the win, so we slowed down, while our rivals became more aggressive and scored more than us: at the end of the third period the result was Bruno-Franchetti &#8211; 8 Marzo 30-28!<br \/>\nIt was a nail-biting final quarter: both teams did their best to reach the win. We had just one minute left and the result was a tie: our chance to win were the two free throws of Michele Antelli. Fortunately he\u2019s an ice-man, his hand didn\u2019t shake and he scored both free throws.<br \/>\nAfter their last desperate attempt to change the result the sound of the siren began the pitch invasion of our mates to start.<br \/>\nThey ran towards us and we jumped and screamed \u201cBRUNO, BRUNO, BRUNO\u201d together!
