(Elena Dallara)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #212121;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\"><b>AUSTRIA<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\">Our first visit was to the Austria Pavilion. Inside there were lots of trees and a big sign reading, \u201cBREATH\u201d. While we were waiting in the queue it started raining.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\">(Benedetta Bibiani) <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\">The Austrian Pavilion reproduced the microclimate of the Austrian woods (Camilla Berto)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" style=\"text-align: justify;\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\">The pavilion created a small scale Austrian forest that provided 62.5 kilograms of fresh oxygen every hour, without filters or conditioners, which is enough for 1,800 people in an ideal climate (Marco Boschin)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #212121;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\"><b>BELGIUM <\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #262626;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\">The pavilion of Belgium was one of my favourites because they offered cookies and I saw mountains of sweets all over the place!<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #262626;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\">(Luca Gasparinetti)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #262626;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\"><b>BOLIVIA <\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\">The Bolivian Pavilion was really small but I liked it. It was very colourful and the stamp they had was one of my favourites! I took a lot of photos,which I sent to Abigail (my Bolivian friend). She said that the pavilion was really representative of her country!<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\">(Benedetta Bibiani)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" style=\"text-align: justify;\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"color: #212121;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\"><b>BRAZIL<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" style=\"text-align: justify;\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\">The beating heart of Brazil&#8217;s Pavilion was an interactive network connecting the three floors. While visitors walked on the hanging net<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\">, they<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\"> interacted with the surrounding environment: some sensors detected <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\">the<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\"> movements by transferring impulses that modified the <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\">sounds<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\"> and the surrounding light. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" style=\"text-align: justify;\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\">(Francesco Pistilli)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" style=\"text-align: justify;\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\">My \u201cthird prize\u201d goes to Brazil: jumping on a suspended net was really amazing!<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" style=\"text-align: justify;\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\">(Elena Dallara)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" style=\"text-align: justify;\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"color: #212121;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\">The <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\">Brazilian pavilion, in my opinion, was the funniest pavilion of all, because of its big net at the entrance <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" style=\"text-align: justify;\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\">(Giulia Palazzi)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><b> <\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" style=\"text-align: justify;\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\">I visited the Brazilian Pavilion, where you could walk on a net that links three floors. I was, however, a little scared\u2026<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" style=\"text-align: justify;\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\">(Camilla Berto)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" style=\"text-align: justify;\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"color: #212121;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\"><b>CLUSTERS: CHOCOLATE, COCOA, COFFEE<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p lang=\"en-US\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Helvetica,serif;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\">I think that it was a good idea to create clusters because they brought together communities, not only by geographical area, but by a common theme and food group. In this way, many poor countries afforded to take part in Expo without building their own pavilions. However most of those countries didn&#8217;t develop the theme properly<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\"><b>.<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\"> They just sold bracelets or other little gadgets! (Elisabetta Binetti)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" style=\"text-align: justify;\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"color: #212121;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\"><b>COMPANIES<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\">There were often only sponsor stalls such as <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\"><i>McDonald\u2019s, Perugina, Martini, Lindt, Coca Cola <\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\">and<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\"><i> Technogym <\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\">and they did not match the theme of the Exhibition: it sometimes looked like visiting an outlet.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\">(Benedetta Bibiani)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" style=\"text-align: justify;\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"color: #212121;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\"><b>COUNTRIES <\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" style=\"text-align: justify;\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\">The countries were 145, which is an enormous number because there are 196 countries all over the world altogether (Tommaso Turchetto)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #212121;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\"><b>DECUMAN<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\">The weather wasn\u2019t good. It rained all the time. Sometimes it was even wet on the main street \u2013 decuman -even though we walked under a tent! <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\">(Benedetta Bibiani)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #212121;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\"><b>DISEASES<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\">EXPO dealt with nutrition as well as malnutrition in all its forms, including diseases related to food. (Elena Dallara)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #262626;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\">The theme for the World Expo 2015 was &#8220;Feeding the planet, energy for the life&#8221;. I<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\"> think the visit was very useful to understand the importance of nutrition, to learn about what we eat, and understand what we should and should not eat for our health and for our planet&#8217;s health <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\">(Eleonora Giorgiutti)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #212121;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\">I explored the issue of malnutrition and hunger in that huge exhibition, because people still suffer from starvation in the Third World. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\">The event was an opportunity to reflect about the contradictions of our world: on one hand there is still hunger in poor countries, on the other there is waste of food in rich countries. It\u2019s about time we found a solution! You were in a green area, where you could listen to the noises and enjoy the visual effects of the refreshing English countryside.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p lang=\"en-US\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Helvetica,serif;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #212121;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\"><b>UNIVERSAL EXHIBITION<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" style=\"text-align: justify;\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\">The first world fair was the Great Exhibition, which took place at Hyde Park in London in 1851, during the Victorian Age. Henry Cole, with the support of Prince Albert, designed Crystal Palace.
