together with 5C went to Portugal\u2019s capital: Lisbon.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial,sans-serif;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\">We spent a lot of time visiting the old and the new districts of the city.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p lang=\"en-GB\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial,sans-serif;\">We really had a great time there and we were surprised by the atmosphere which we breathed and experienced everywhere.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial,sans-serif;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\">If I had to suggest what to explore in Lisbon, I would say: <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial,sans-serif;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\">The <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial,sans-serif;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\"><i>Alfama Area<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial,sans-serif;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\">: the most particular and characteristic place, from whose terraces you can have a breathtaking glance of Lisbon\u2019s skyline. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial,sans-serif;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\">The <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial,sans-serif;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\"><i>Baixa Area<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial,sans-serif;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\">: the rebuilt part of Lisbon, after the earthquake that had destroyed part of city near the ocean in 1755, now this a vibing area full of hotels and caf\u00e9s, near to the Tagus river<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial,sans-serif;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\">The <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial,sans-serif;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\"><i>Bairro Alto<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial,sans-serif;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\"> and <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial,sans-serif;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\"><i>Chado<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial,sans-serif;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\">, full of bars and also traditional shops.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial,sans-serif;\">The Lisbon Cathedral <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial,sans-serif;\">The Monastero dos Jer\u00f3nimos<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial,sans-serif;\">The Belem Tower<\/span><\/li>\n<li>\n<p lang=\"en-GB\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial,sans-serif;\">The area that was dedicated to EXPO in 1998<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #212121;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial,sans-serif;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\">Besides the interesting places to see, there are some typical things that you can appreciate in Lisbon:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #212121;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial,sans-serif;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\">The colourful <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #212121;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial,sans-serif;\">facades of the buildings as well as the <\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #212121;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial,sans-serif;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\">murales around the city.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #212121;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial,sans-serif;\">The delicious food<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #212121;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial,sans-serif;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\">The bright colours of the metro stations <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial,sans-serif;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\">Many of the buildings facades are decorated with a kind of white tiles with blue, green and yellow drawings called \u201c<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial,sans-serif;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\"><i>Azulejos<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial,sans-serif;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\">\u201d every building has a different type of <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial,sans-serif;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\"><i>azulejos<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial,sans-serif;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\"> and it is different from the next one, I think this makes the city more bright and cheerful.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial,sans-serif;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\">I appreciated the typical food; Portuguese kitchen uses \u00a0a lot of fish like codfish (bacalhau) and sardines (sardinha) with a lot of garlic. Trying different kinds of cooking is a delicious way to understand peoples, and we tried dishes that we had never tasted before.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial,sans-serif;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\">The murales around the city told us a lot of different and weird stories narrated in different styles, this really made the city alive!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial,sans-serif;\"><span lang=\"en-GB\">Another thing that I liked were the metro stations, in fact every station was extremely different from the others; they\u2019re colourful and full of poems by great authors from all over the world.
