Last 3rd October there was a student demonstration in Venice to protest against school reform. I went to Venice with some classmates to join a demonstration.
I disagree with miss Gelmini’s reform bill because I think it isn’t right not to give 8 billion € to state schools and to give some of that money to private schools.

On the 3rd October, four days ago, we protested, so we didn’t go to school. A lot of classes from my school and from other schools protested against a new bill therefore against the government. The Italian government wants to pass a reform bill: they want just one elementary teacher for each class instead of 3 teachers for 2 classes at elementare school. Moreover our behavior will be evaluated with a new mark. We are not happy with those policies, so we joined a demonstration in Venice : there were a lot of students, I think they were from all Venice schools. All the students wanted the Minister of Education Gelmini to withdraw her new reform bill because now Italian school isn’t very good and with her bill Italian school will be worse than now. We need a quality education first.

On 3rd October there was a protest against the new school policies that our Minister of Education has proposed for next year. These school policies are: from next year we will be up to 35 students per class, elementary pupils will have one teacher only, except for another one for the English language. State schools won’t have much money for quality education, and a lot of teachers will be fired.
I disagree with that bill!
There were a lot of students from all Mestre and Venice schools and they went to Piazzale Roma on a protest march.I didn’t join the march, not because I disagreed, but because I was busy with my homework at home.

On Friday 3rd October, there was a march against the new school reform and there was a students’ demostration in Venice to protest against Ms. Gelmini’s bill. My classmates decided to join the demostration and they went to Venice. I didn’t go to Venice because I didn’t think that it was useful for the future of our school. Even if we demostrate, the governament won’t change the bill.
Another reason because I disagreed with the demostration was that Italy is not in a very good financial condition and the governament has to do some cutting, and, even if it isn’t good, also the school funding has to be cut down.
However, even if I disagreed with the demostration, I didn’t come to school because my classmates were missing.

On friday 3rd October 2008 I took part in a demonstation to protest against the new school policies.
I disagree with the bill presented to Parliament by Miss Gelmini,our Minister of Education,because she wants to cut a lot of school jobs and a lot of money (minus 8 billion euros).
I know a march started from Piazzale Roma, but I didn’t go there.

Last Friday there was a demonstration against Mrs Gelmini’s school bill and there was also a march in Venice. I absolutely disagree with the bill so I went to Venice to join the demonstration. I disagree because Mrs Gelmini wants to cut a lot of education money with her bill, and she also wants to cut a lot of jobs. The march started from P.le Roma and arrived at the Local Education Authority office where the students protested. I joined the march and we were about 1,000 people.

On Friday the 3rd October 2008 nobody in my class attended lessons because they wanted to protest against Minister Gelmini’s reform bill. I also disagreed with it because our Minister of Education wants to fire a lot of school staff and to cut investements in the schools.
But I wasn’t allowed by my parents to join the protest in Venice. When I came back home they explained to me that I should have my own ideas not my classmates’ ideas. So I read the newspapers and surfed the Internet to get informed. Today I can say I agree with the Minister’s reform bill.

Last Friday school staff protested against the new reform bill about the Italian school. Students protested,too. None of my classmates entered the school; even if we are not allowed to “strike” because going to school isn’t a job, we enjoyed the demonstration . I’m not so happy with some things said by Ms Gelmini, our Minister of Education. Yesterday she was on tv and I listened to her words. In my opinion she’s right about fighting bullying and saving money, but I also thought she was wrong about having just one teacher in the place of three teachers at elementary school. I didn’t want to agree with the protest, but I was the only one of the class who wanted to attend classes, so in the end I came back home.

In spite of massive morning attendance, however, last Fri evening (10 October), just two students of mine out of 110 carried a torch into Venice.
One of them has promised to write an article and send the pictures…

«Last Friday I went to school at 8.00 o’clock and I met my friends outside the school;
We all went to the Venice demonstration by bus.
At Piazzale Roma we had breakfast.
There were many guys there and all together we protested against the government.
So we spent all the morning to protest against Minister Gelmini, the italian Minister of Education who is for one teacher only at elementary schools instead of three teachers.
After that my friends and I went back home».
