Everybody has his own opinion about this year’s international Exposition held in Milan and most people have expressed their criticism about it, but I guess that lots of those who said something bad about it are still thinking of going there to see what it really is. Despite what has been said about the illicit deals made during the organization of the event, there is a great curiosity that lies in everyone who’s interested in our contemporary world. Even if you are one of those who say that it is going to be a failure, you have high expectations about the Expo. This is because it is one of those mass phenomena that people feel they have to take part in. People are characterised by a great desire of discovering new things and participating in something that may be remembered in the future. This has always happened. Luckily!
The 1889 Exposition in Paris created the Tour Eiffel, one of the most innovative constructions of the times; who knows what outcome may turn out of the pavilions arranged along the decumano at Rho. An Expo in Italy could be seen as something that happens once in a lifetime and the fact that this possibility exists, that you may miss something extraordinary, drives you to feel like you can’t miss it after all. This, at least, is the impression it has made on me, but I think that everyone should be confident that it might be an important event, overlooking the criticism.
WAITING FOR OUR TURN TO VISIT EXPO

EXPO 2015 is an international event that involves many countries all over the world, showing their contribution for the planet on a selected theme (Feeding the planet, energy for life).
Expo 2015 is the current Universal Exposition being hosted by Milan, it started on May, 1st, and it will end on October, 31st. Its scope embraces technology, innovation, culture, traditions and creativity and how they relate to food and diet, with different focuses on different issues like : how to feed the entire planet, even how to live a healthier life, and last but not least, how to improve the “health” of our planet.
The countries that participate in this exhibition are 145. The are 196 countries all over the world from A, Afghanistan, to Z, Zimbabwe, including Vatican city, one of the smallest countries in the world, and of course Italy, the host country.
Over 20,000,000 visitors are expected: this means that every day about 110000 people will be inside the EXPO park, visiting every pavillion, watching the wonderful and various architectures, tasting all sorts of specialities…But…This will automatically cause a huge food waste.
How will this problem be sorted out?
They say that every day food banks will serve what was cooked on EXPO the same day, and we hope so. We can’t waste anymore, we have to help anyone, and EXPO 2015 has to be a new, important opportunity.
