MY TRIP TO DUBLIN

Are you thinking of going to Dublin? Well, based on what I’ve experienced, it could be the perfect destination in order to mix the study of English with entertainment and fun with friends!

We left from Treviso’s airport on August 28th and we arrived the same day at Dublin’s airport. We have stayed there for two weeks in host families who accommodated us as their children. We had the occasion of trying typical food, of learning something about Irish culture, thanks to the help of our teachers, both the ones who went with us and the local ones, who gave us English lessons and showed us the city, going around with us.

We were thirty people of my group and other thirty people of the other group, so we were a lot , but this made things more amazing and gave me the possibility of meeting and knowing better some new and old friends; friendships we can keep because we all come from the same city!

The usually daytime was organized in this way: Monday to Friday we had tourist excursions around the city in the morning and in the afternoon we had lessons; instead on Saturday and Sunday we had all day long trips. The free time didn’t miss so we could go shopping and having lunch calmly wherever we wanted in the city. We had some free evenings too, because we usually had to come back home for dinner, but in these evenings we ate outside all together!

Talking about the city, we visited some museums and monuments, but what I suggest you to visit is: first of all the Trinity College, which is in the city centre and it’s the most ancient college in Ireland. Secondly you absolutely must go to The Guinness Storehouse, where you learn more about how beer is made and you can also taste the real Guinness! And if you have some free time, why don’t you go visiting Howth and the port? There you can surely have a breathtaking view and in Howth there is the best fish and chips of all Dublin!

And what if you really would like to have a drink with your friends in the city? You must go to Temple Bar, the most famous and cool bar (and also restaurant if you want to have dinner too) in the city.
